Playing his part in his team’s triumph, the Belgium international produced a dominant performance up front, eventually recording a commendable 6.8/10 match rating on SofaScore.
The 30-year-old eventually made way for newly-recruited striker Odsonne Edouard, who went on to make the points safe by scoring two well-taken goals in the closing minutes [BBC].
On Monday, Benteke took to Twitter to post an image of himself partaking in the encounter accompanied by a caption featuring a heart and football emojis and the hashtag #CPFC, much to the delight of many Palace fans.
