Tottenham Hotspur legend Ledley King has heaped a wealth of praise on current manager Mauricio Pochettino, after claiming that the Argentine boss has already exceeded expectations at White Hart Lane.
Former Southampton manager Pochettino has guided Spurs back into the Champions League and has also pushed for Premier League glory in the past two years, whilst getting the best out of young talents like Dele Alli and Harry Kane.
With Spurs set for a big few years, that includes a move into a reconstructed White Hart Lane, it’s an exciting time for the North London club and Ledley King is pleased with what he has seen so far- stating that Pochettino has already achieved more than anyone would have anticipated.
Speaking to NBC’s Tottenham Hotspur: To Dare Is To Do film, the former central-defender said:
“He [Pochettino] has exceeded expectations at this early stage. He works the team very hard but at the same time he’s someone who will give young players a chance.”
“You will see him with his arm around players coming off the training pitch whether you’re the most experienced player in the team or a young player with your first training session with the first team. And I think that’s great,”
Spurs chances’ of winning a first trophy since 2008 now rely on the FA Cup, where the Lilywhites have a tasty quarter-final against Millwall but are rated amongst the favourites for Wembley glory- although they’ll have to fight Arsenal, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea for that honour.
